The 3 Valleys are made up of the three major resorts of Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens along with numerous small villages and smaller resorts. This means that there is something for everyone on their ski holiday

Val Thorens

Val Thorens is the highest of all the resorts and villages in the 3 Valley area. As it is a purpose built resort many people think that it will be a concrete jungle. However, it has been designed in such a way that many of the apartments and chalets are built in the traditional wood and stone that befits the area. The buildings are mainly medium rise and some are exceptionally stylish.

The streets are traffic free apart from when arriving to enable guests to unload their luggage. This is a compact ski in/ski out village that has plenty of ski resort buzz to is. The heart of the resort is the Place de Caron and this is where pedestrians mix in with the skiers and boarders. Most of the shops and restaurants are located in this area.

The resort is split into two by a little slope. The upper half of the village is located around the Place de Peclet. The road then runs across the hill from here to the chalet stayle Plein Sud area. This is where most of the catered chalets are located. The lower end of the village has some of the finest residences and 5 star hotels. There is of course the usual free bus service that runs through the resort. There is also a bus that links Les Menuires and St Martin.
